SHINE
Support When You Need It Most
A space for healing from emotional abuse, navigating difficult relationships, and finding your way back to yourself.
You can understand why a relationship was unhealthy and still miss the person.
You can know that your boundaries are reasonable and still feel overwhelmed by guilt.
You can recognize manipulation and still question your own judgment.
Healing isn't always about needing more information. Sometimes it's about having somewhere to turn when old feelings resurface, when you're second-guessing yourself, or when you need a reminder that your needs matter, too.
That's why I created SHINE.
A growing library of compassionate, practical resources designed to help you understand what you've experienced, navigate difficult emotions, and begin trusting yourself again.
You Know What Happened. So Why Does It Still Feel So Hard?
Maybe you've spent years trying to keep the peace.
Maybe you've learned to anticipate other people's moods, explain yourself endlessly, or put your own needs aside to avoid conflict.
Perhaps you've finally started setting boundaries, but instead of feeling relieved, you feel guilty, anxious, or afraid.
Or maybe you've stepped away from a painful relationship and are surprised by how much grief, confusion, and self-doubt you're still carrying.
You don't need to have everything figured out to begin healing.
And you don't need to rush yourself into feeling better.
SHINE was created to offer understanding, reassurance, and practical support for the complicated moments that can come with recovering from emotionally harmful relationships.
What You'll Find Inside SHINE
What Do You Need Today?
Support for the moments when everything feels overwhelming.
Sometimes you don't need an entire course. You need help with what you're feeling right now.
This collection of support cards is designed around real experiences, such as:
I'm questioning my boundary.
I want to call or text them.
I feel like I'm being cruel.
My family is pressuring me to fix this.
I feel responsible for how they're feeling.
I don't trust my own judgment.
What if I'm the crazy one?
I feel like I'm a bad person.
I don't know what I need. I just feel awful.
Each resource offers a place to pause, understand what may be happening emotionally, and explore what you need in that moment.
You'll find supportive reflections, audio guidance, practical tools, and worksheets to help you reconnect with yourself.
Let's Talk About It
Understanding the patterns that have shaped your relationships.
A growing video library where we explore the dynamics of emotional abuse and the sometimes unexpected ways they can affect you.
Topics include:
Topics include:
Narcissistic family dynamics and enabling parents
Trauma bonds and why letting go can be so difficult
Gaslighting, DARVO, and emotional manipulation
Boundaries, guilt, and no contact
Fawning and people-pleasing
Emotional flashbacks and old survival responses
Grief, emotional safety, and rebuilding self-trust
These videos are designed to help you put words to experiences that may have left you confused, ashamed, or questioning yourself.
Because sometimes, understanding why you feel the way you do is an important part of learning how to respond differently.
Navigating No Contact
Support for one of the most emotionally complicated decisions you may ever make.
Choosing distance from a harmful relationship isn't always the end of the struggle.
You may feel relief and grief at the same time. You may question your decision, worry about the other person's feelings, or feel pressure from family members to reconnect.
This self-paced course explores the emotional challenges that can come with no contact, including guilt, grief, family pressure, self-doubt, and learning to honour your own boundaries.
The goal isn't to tell you whether you should stay in contact or walk away.
It's to help you make choices with greater clarity, self-compassion, and trust in yourself.
Practical Tools for Everyday Healing
Because insight is important, but so is having something you can actually use.
SHINE also includes practical resources designed to support you beyond the videos and lessons.
As the library grows, you'll find resources such as:
Somatic exercises for moments of boundary anxiety
Downloadable reminders and phone lock screens
Guided reflections and worksheets
Tools for reconnecting with your needs and emotions
New resources are added monthly, giving you fresh opportunities to explore, reflect, and practise at your own pace.

SHINE Is for You If…
You've experienced emotional abuse, manipulation, or difficult family relationships.
You struggle with guilt when you set boundaries or put yourself first.
You find yourself questioning your memories, feelings, or decisions.
You're navigating limited contact, no contact, or the possibility of changing a relationship.
You understand the patterns intellectually but still feel emotionally stuck.
You're learning to recognize fawning, people-pleasing, or hypervigilance.
You want practical tools and compassionate guidance you can return to whenever you need them.
You don't need to identify someone in your life as a narcissist to benefit from SHINE.
What matters is how your experiences have affected you, and what you need as you move forward.
A Different Kind of Support
SHINE isn't about telling you what decisions to make.
It's not about pushing you to forgive, reconcile, cut someone off, or heal according to someone else's timeline.
It's about helping you understand yourself more deeply.
It's about recognizing the patterns you learned to survive difficult relationships, and gently exploring whether those patterns are still serving you.
It's about learning that someone else's disappointment doesn't automatically mean you've done something wrong.
And it's about discovering that your feelings, needs, and boundaries deserve consideration, too.
You are allowed to heal at your own pace.

A Note From Me
As a Registered Psychotherapist, I've worked with many people who understand, on some level, that a relationship has been harmful, yet continue to struggle with guilt, grief, self-doubt, and the fear of disappointing others.
One of the things I hear so often is some version of:
“I know this isn't healthy. So why do I still feel this way?”
The answer is rarely as simple as just knowing better.
Our relationships shape how we see ourselves, how we respond to conflict, and what we believe we're responsible for.
And those patterns don't necessarily disappear just because we recognize them.
I created SHINE because I wanted to offer accessible resources that people could return to in the moments between understanding something and truly beginning to feel differently.
My hope is that SHINE helps you feel less alone, more connected to yourself, and increasingly confident in your ability to make choices that honour your own well-being.
With warmth,
Eleni Kapetanios, RP
Your Questions, Answered
No. SHINE is an educational and self-guided support membership, not psychotherapy, counselling, or crisis support. Membership does not establish a therapist-client relationship or include individualized clinical care.
Is SHINE therapy?
1
Not at all. SHINE is designed so you can explore what feels most relevant to you. You can begin with a support card, watch a video, work through a course, or revisit a resource whenever you need it.
Do I have to complete the resources
in a certain order?
2
That's completely okay. SHINE is not about telling you to end relationships. It's about helping you understand your experiences, explore your options, and make decisions that are right for your circumstances.
What if I'm not ready to go no contact?
3
What if I'm already in therapy?
4
SHINE can be a source of additional educational resources and self-reflection alongside therapy, but it doesn't replace the individualized support of your therapist.
You Don't Have to Have It All Figured Out
You can still love someone and recognize that a relationship has hurt you.
You can feel guilty and still honour your boundaries.
You can grieve what you hoped for while beginning to choose something different for yourself.
Healing doesn't require you to have all the answers.
Sometimes it begins with giving yourself permission to listen to what you need.
Welcome to SHINE.
SHINE is an educational resource membership offered by Therapy With Eleni. It does not provide psychotherapy, individualized mental health treatment, emergency assistance, or crisis intervention. If you are experiencing immediate danger or a mental health emergency, contact emergency services or an appropriate local crisis service.
